I used the pin array command already, how do I "pre name pins as I place them"? So far as I can tell, pin array command will generate a bunch of pins and give them generic names like P$0, P$1, etc.
Then I need to click each pin individually using the name command.
Smart paste sounds workable I guess, it's just a bit awkard to do all the work in Excel, then paste it in and do more work in Fusion. I will try it.
However, I think what I want can be accomplished in the "Inspector" tab with some effort put into it.
If a single pin is selected, the "inspector" tab allows you to change the pin's name. When multiple objects are selected, they all show up in the "Selected objects" section, and I can select individual objects out of those selected, and change some properties associated with each pin, such as position, direction, function, etc, but not the name, which seems to be an oversight.
Ideally, I would be able to edit values directly in the "Selected Objects" table, and navigate that with arrow keys, so I could eg, select the top pin, maybe double click on the name field, it becomes editable, enter a new name, hit Enter and it goes down to the next line, the name column stays as the active cursor point, hit Enter to edit, input new name, hit Enter, repeat until the end of selection.
This is the kind of productivity required to use the product regularly for EDA work.
