SMD pad placement. Can't start with a negative sign

I haven't created any new footprints for some time but I was working on one today when I realized something. While editing the position box values during pad placement, you can not begin by typing a negative sign. There has to be a value typed in the box and then the cursor moved back to the beginning of the string and then you can place a negative.

That's kind of (really) annoying when you are in the habit of slapping the top of the Numpad for a negative and your SMD pad disappears off the screen when you press enter. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it new or did I just block it out of my memory?

I haven't tried it with other tools or editing in the board space, I just noticed this in the footprint editor.
