schematic module updates

I created a schematic module that I want to use multiple times in the main schematic. After I modified the module (changed net names) the module did not update in the main schematic (port names remained unchanged). Even when I place the module again, the old net names show up. I must be missing a step to update the module.

As a work-around, I created a new module and copied my schematic into that, then created new ports which now had the updated names. Is there a way to update modules that are already placed in the schematic?

Hi @baumannU4ZZM ,

I hope you're having a great day. You need to update the port names, not the nets within the module. Changing the net names within the module will do nothing on the higher level schematic.

Use the name command and hold ctrl and left click where the port and the module meet up.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I am having a great day! I tried your solution but I am having a hard time selecting the individual port, I always get the whole module. Is there a trick to select just the port?

Hi @baumannU4ZZM,

No tricks just a lot of attempts and hitting the magic spot. You can try it with the move and info commands first to get a feel for it then try with the name. We have existing tickets for improving this.
