Resize Outline of Footprint

Hi,

is there an option to resize the outline of a footprint?

The frame of the SMD resistor that I am using in my design is too big.

Unfortunately I could not find a way to adjust the frame. Neither in the 3D model nor in the footprint edit has this not been visible. Only in the preview of the whole component the outline is visible (see screenshot below - I am talking about the rectangular frame of the footprint on the left side).

Hi! I assume you are talking about the silkscreen frame. You can adjust this in the footprint editor. Take a look at the "display layer" panel and make sure that the tPlace and bPlace layers are visible. We are investigating giving these layers more suitable names.

Just as an FYI this article can come in handy explaining every layer and it's purpose: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/every-layer-explained-autodesk-eagle/

Hi, thanks for your feedback!

As you can see in the screenshot below, the frame does not appear while checking tPlace and bPlace...Any other suggestions?

Hi @philipp.grubeVGAVY ,

I hope you're doing well. That frame might not be on the silkcreen layers. Try turning on all of the layers and see if the rectangle pops up. Because you have a grey background, any layers that are grey will be invisible with that background, so keep that in mind.

My guess is that the frame you are seeing may be on the tDocu or bDocu layers.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Jorge,

I changed the background color and checked all layers. As you have already correctly assumed, the tDocu layer is the layer that includes the outline.

Thank you very much!

Philipp
