I imported an old design from Eagle. A number for the components were from a "some" managed library and did not include any 3D models.
I started to replace those from a Teams library I created that does have appropriate 3D models associated with it.
I was under the impression that all of the Packages referenced in that Teams library also in a folder 3D Models:
However, I ran into a snag with this particular component.
While I was able to replace it with the component from my teams library, it still does not contain a 3D model. That seemed a little puzzling as I'd used that component from that teams library in another design. I was convinced I had also created a Package with 3D model and located it in the folder mentioned above.
So I check out that other design, where the component definitely has a 3D model associated with it ( the ethernet connector):
There are 2 things I note here:
- The component name has an underscore attached to the end. That is not the case in the other design, although seemingly both designs reference the same component in the same teams library.
- In the Place Components dialogue it is greyed out.
So I check the said library. It shows to packages with the same name (no underscore?). One of them has a 3D model, the other one doesn't.
I right-click on the library and select "edit" to open it:
- There is only one component in that library with that name. None of the parts (symbol, footprint, package) have an underscore in their name.
- The symbol editor shows that there is no symbol.
- The UI shows the "something" is linked to library.io. Not sure what exactly. The package/3d model or the entire component?
I am certain I created this mess myself, but It completely eludes me how to fix it.
I want a component in that teams library, with a symbol, footprint and 3D model all on Fusion Teams, not on library.io.
Any help is appreciated!
