Replace component by a connector on a board

I have completed my design which include some power mosfets. The application requires the mosfet being located on the side of an instrument case to have some passive thermal exchange. Hence, on the PCB the mosfet footprint should be changed by a connector.

What would be the best practice in Fusion 360? I want to keep the Mosfet in the schematic for the documentation, But I also want to specify the connector type.

You can make for your component mosfet an second package in the library manager. Make this package in the form of the required connector.

Update the package library by typing update in the command line, select the changed library.

In your schematic right click on the mosfet and change the package in the popup list to the connector. In the pcb layout the package will change now.

Schematic will be stay the same.
