"Write DBL" is not writing out a file

We have been saving out Design Blocks in Fusion 360 for several months. It is a very important part of making LED strips. We tried yesterday and it tries but writes a Zero Byte file that shows up in Recents in Windows, but does not really exist in the folder.

"Write DBL" has been deprecated in favor of the wonderful new "Insert Electronic Design" Under the Place dropdown on the ribbon. Do it in the schematic and the board file will behave just like it was a design block (layout preserved).

If we can ever get this to be linked, then changing the inserted Design file will make it behave like a library object, and will update the designs it is inserted into.

Having them behave like a library object would be fantastic. Having them update from a linked file would also be fantastic. Having it be able to append a variable as a prefix or suffix would be fantastic, Like the option to add a designator for all duplicates when you insert another design . A duplicate A0 could become D1A0 (for Design 1 as an example) you would type in D1 and it would append as a suffix or a prefix to all duplicates. I say this as I am manually doing this to 80 duplicate circuits, and there will be 4 copies in this design.
