"Property Change Failed" when updating trace width in fusion360 electronics design

I'm having sporadic trouble changing a trace widths from .006" to .005", so narrowing the traces. I get an error popup box saying "Property Change Failed" and the trace width doesn't update. I'm attaching a screenshot of an area where this occurred, it seems to happen most often where traces are routed closely to eachother or to vias (although these traces seem to still pass DRC). Thank you.

Hi @danaan.metge

thank you for your participation in the Forum.

The message itself is clear, I think, but you are right to ask why this happens.  😉

Well, I could imagine the following situation:

You have some traces closely routed and you have some components around in this area. It would be nice to increase the width of the traces. The "Push Violators" option is active.

Now you want to change the width of the trace. There is still some space for moving/pushing other traces away. But there will be a width, where it is no longer possible to push things. In such a case the message Property Change Failed will be shown.

I hope this makes sense.

Hi @christopher2KLSVU

Ah, I missed that he tried to decrease the width...

If the trace would be locked, you are still allowed to change the width. Maybe it's a value below the minimum values in the Design Rules or Net classes...

Would be good to have a detailed description and a sample file. So we could find out what @danaan.metge tried to do.

Thanks for the replies! Let me see if I can replicate the issue and export the file that displays it, but I believe the value that I was trying to decrease the width of the trace to was still within DRC parameters. I'll see if I can upload an export.
