Push from 3d PCB to 2d is not working

Hello, 

Here is my problem.  I edit a 3d model that contains the PCB with the Edit in Place feature.  I then exit Edit in Place and save the assembly,  I can see that the parent model of the 3d pcb is updated.  (I discovered that that model has to be closed for this to work.  I find this an major inconvenience.) I then open the PCB parent model and push it to the 2d PCB. This is does not work.  The 2d pcb is not updated and I have a banner that says " The 2d and 3d PCB documents are out of sync."  Which I cannot clear.

There is one more odd thing that I believe is related and that is in the 3d PCB model that I am editing when I move a component the pads don't move with it and when I try to select the pads that I intend to move all the pads are selected.  This is where I believe the issue is.

Just spend half a day on something similar... sucks..
What worked for me is the following:
1. In 3D PCB, open the Board and select the the board/"inside" of the outline
2. Right click to get context menu
3. Use "Edit Board" command <- this is the "trick"
4. Right click again and push to 2D

Sorry for our late response.

We have had an improvement in Edit in Place function that if the corresponded board file is opened, when you move component in the EIP, you could check the checkbox for:

• Update PCB
• Reroute

In this case, the changes in EIP are updated in the board file, and then after save the assembly file and reopen the saved 3DPCB file, the board file and 3D PCB file should be synced.

Additionally, if they are not synced due to any further changes, please go to 2D PCB and view 3D PCB again, then they should be synced.

Hi Jorge, I opened a support ticket on this in October 2020. Ticket number 17032354, it was never resolved but I managed to work around the problem. I just work in 2d space, which is an inconvenience but at least it works.
