Hi All

I`m having hard times adding an 3d model to the existing .flbr

I can see the model being added to the footprint but when I add it into the pcb, then i have error that that footprint might not have 3d model.

Thanks for any input.

this forum is not allowing me to attached the .flbr file or .flbr

Hi @Tiksom ,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

Are you still having the problem?

Looks like your case is similar to this one: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-electronics/3d-packages-disappearing/td-p/9808290

We are trying to narrow down this issue, could you please share with us how did you add the 3D model for the library?

It would be really helpful if you could help to record a video to demonstrate the issue from creating library and till you see the 3D model is missing in 3D PCB.

Thank you so much for your help and so sorry for any inconvenience.

Regards,

Helen

Hi @Tiksom ,

I realized that last week around Thursday or Friday, we did have an issue about this. And it has been addressed quickly last week. So if you happened to had the issue last week, most likely you will not see it again now after relaunched Fusion 360.

Could you please share with us whether it's OK for you or not now? Thank you.

Regards,

Helen

Hiya

Unfortunately it`s still there.

See attached screenshot.

This is so far the only part that disappear. It`s showing 3d model when it`s on the pcb on it`s own, but not when it`s placed around other components.

Also, this part was imported f360 with .SLDPRT extension. I did tried to export that to .step and remodel the part but that didn`t worked out.

I have attached the model and the footprint library.

Thanks

Hi @Tiksom ,

Thank you very much for your files and more information.

We tried your library and the 3D model, but unfortunately we cannot reproduce the issue so far...

We noticed you have a pending update for Fusion 360, because there is a number 1 in your top right corner of Fusion.

Could you please relaunch Fusion 360 after the live update finished? (We just released new version of Fusion 360 yesterday), and try again?

If you still have this issue, do you mind to share your designs with us and better to record a video to demonstrate the issue. I will DM you my email address.

Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you so much for your help.

Regards,

Helen

Further to my message above, I have attached the entire project with board, schematic and 3d layout.

Please shift components on board to see different results.

Also,, why is it so difficult to find the newly created electronic library?? why the library cannot show in the "Available" section.

This all don`t make sense

@Tiksom , if you inserted an external 3d model into the 3d package document as xref, can you right click on the inserted component, select "break link" and save a new version, then see if it works in 3D PCB?

Hi @Tiksom ,

Thank you very much for the files. Could you please try the suggestion from @yqliu  and see any helps?

As for the Library, if you create the library in Fusion 360 and save it directly like saving other Fusion design, then the library is in In Use tab (which means you could use the library in the Add Part list directly).

InUseTab.PNG

And if you want to see the library which is in Available list in the Add Part list, then you need to select the library in Available list > Click Use button to move it to the In Use tab firstly.

Hope it helps.

Sorry for any confusion.

Helen

Hi @Tiksom , @kris.chlapek ,

Good news!

Today Fusion 360 just released an update with version 2.0.9313, which has a fix about the issue you reported.

Could you please try to view 3D PCB again and see whether the issue is fixed or not?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

Regards,

Helen

Hi @kris.chlapek

Could you please remove the 3D PCB link from 2D PCB firstly, and then view 3D PCB again?

regards,

Helen

Hiya

As a reply, I now have the 3d model attaching correctly.

the work you did seems to work, but the affected library must be constructed again after f360 update as it seems that the update is not touching files already created.

I have also noticed, that I'm not able to delete 3d pcb regardless if I break the link or not. This causes me to have 3 3d pcbs in my link despite making a single board.

Thanks

Hi @kris.chlapek ,

It's so great to hear that the 3D Model is OK for you now. Thank you very much for sharing this.

About not able to delete the 3D PCB from data panel after breaking link with 2D PCB, it's by designed currently, because the 3D PCB file may be linked with old version of 2D PCB still, so if you want to promote the old versions of the files, they still need to keep the relationship in order to open the old version.

Hope the answer helps a little.

Please feel free to let us know if you need our further assistant. Thank you.

Helen
