Hello,

There is one time consuming issue with mentioned functionality. When mouse is hover over signals, whole signal is highlighted, but there is no information what is the name of this signal. In current example i know that header CON2 contains signal X from another board. I'm looking for MCU's port which process this signal which goes from CON2. For now i must click on every signal on CON2, to see its name. When header is large - clicking on every connection to find proper signal with precision of couple of pixels takes a lot of time. I repeat this behavior many times when software is developed.

It would be better to display names as tooltip on mouse hover over every signal. Moreover, when large monitor is used, messages displayed at left bottom corner needs to skip sight between mouse cursor and dialog box. It also takes a time. This is why I propose tool tip instead as shown on the picture.

Isn't it easier and common use to add labels to you nets that are coming from the bus?

You can see very simple what net you are looking for.

Clicking on the net will highlight the whole net.

Good point!. It makes sense.

I spent a while analyzing your proposal. It is ok for short signal names, like on the screenshot below. Following your advise, label was placed at both ends of route. Quite often signals are more descriptive like  "external PWM" (also presented), or even "spindle PWM source" (used in this project). There is no place to put such a labels.

Of course I could use shorter names, but for software development reasons those more redundant are very helpfully. Especially when we have to go back to particular project after year or more.
