Placing a Wurth RJ45 connector from the library causes crash.

I'm trying to place a Wurth xxx-xxxxxxxx RJ45 connector on my board, from the built in library.

I can place the component on the schematic and PCB, but when I try to update the 3D view, Fusion crashes every time, giving an unhandled exception. I've submitted the crash report several times over the last few weeks as I have tried different things to place the component, such as placing in different designs, overhanging PCB/ not overhanging PCB, adjusting DRC etc but there's no real idea given feedback as to when this issue will be solved, or if it is something wrong with what I am doing.

Can anybody try to place the same component and see if it crashes their instance of Fusion, when updating the 3D PCB?

Hi @jroddisRT8HL

Thank for sharing your files to us.

The crash is a known issue and has been fixed in the internal build. I will keep you updated when we release it.

The root cause of this crash issue is that the device T1 is from Library ‘Wurth_Signal & Communications xxx’ which has a special char ‘&’ in its name.

The 3D PCB can’t deal with the char ‘&’ well. So Fusion crash when on 3D PCB.

As a workaround, I suggest you to delete Device T1 in the schematic.

And then rename the Library to remove the special char ‘&’.

Then Add the Device T1 back again from the renamed library.

Fusion 360 will not crash any more.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Before the fix release, please use the workaround to continue your work.
