PCB schematic updates

I have an issue I can not find the solution for, I have a pcb schematic and layout already to go. But I missed off a component so I go to the schematic and add it on but how do you get that component to show on the pcb layout? Thanks in advance.

1) Does the part have a footprint?

2) Select the part in the schematic, use the "show" feature, and it should highlight in the pcb.

3) you may have to zoom all the way out in the pcb editor to see the newly added part.

Would do mind opening the whole electronic design and then try to add the part in the schematic?

The added part should be added automatically in 2d PCB if your schematic and 2d PCB are synced.

If you only open schematic rather than the whole Electronic Design, then add the part in schematic will not add part in 2d PCB.

@ImDaveM The parts do have footprints and i have zoomed out to find the part with no joy,

@panpan_fan After creating the schematic and then creating the PCB layout I wanted to create a V2 of this PCB (adding some components / connectors) to my board. so i go back to my schematic and add the relevant parts / connections. I then click the "switch to PCB document" button in the upper left of fusion. But the parts are not added to the pcb layout anywhere. I've zoomed all the way out to try and find them, and all parts have footprints. but if i delete the PCB layout and recreate the PCB layout from the same schematic they are there with all the other parts for me to place.

Am I missing a step?

Would you mind helping to check if your schematic and PCB file are synced? You can run ERC command in schematic to check.

If they are synced, then it may need to check the Electronic Design files.
