Odd behavior solder mask on copy/edited device made and used

I need a pad with really large hole, and took a wirepad version, edited and saved that with a new name. Changed the hole and hex shape ok. Then used these i in the board. All looked normal until I did the CAM preview, where the top and bottom side thru hole pad seems covered by mask, just like traces normally are.  I copy modified another which happened to be circular, and it worked as expected.  Where do I look to find what to change?

Hi, I hope I understood the problem properly. It seems like the stop-mask layer was turned off for this particular pad. You could verify this by checking the tStop and bStop layers. My assumption would be that you will see no mask present. This can be changed by going into the library and modifying the "Stop" property of this pad in the footprint editor. Make sure to save the library and update your design with the latest version after these changes.

I hope this helps!!

Thank you, that was the problem but I don't know how that changed from the default.  As a total new users I am struggling with the whole library situation and have watched videos on library and creatng a new part in Fusion electronics.  Need a simpler set of instructions I am afraid.  I have about 7 copies of what was the same device with different names in failed trials I had, all starting with a simple pad from the Eagle library, which I needed to resize and save for my future use again.  (I fixed the mask in one or two copies but apparently the design did not auto update.  So my work around was writing down all the critical coodinates, removing the past and reinserting it via schematic.  Then editing locations.  I was trying to find a part swap tool, but did not find one.

Also tried to edit the shape and did not figure that out. I just wanted to shave a part of the pad off one side of the hex shape.  I thought I would get into editing the part via sketch but nothing seemed to move.  More study needed.  I appreciated your assistance.
