Newly created component footprint not being updated

Been working for hours on this. I downloaded an eagle library and managed to import it into Fusion 360 electronics. I can add the library component to my schematic. But I wanted a different footprint so I edited the library, duplicated the existing footprint and edited it to my liking. I saved the changes. I "Pushed new changes to library.io". In my pcb schematic I chose "Update design from library" and "Update design from all libraries" and of course got the message, "nothing to do". (Sarcasm).

When I try to add this component to my schematic only the original footprint is available.

How can I get this to work?

Hi @dave3PGN8,

I hope you're doing well. It looks like you modified the symbol not the footprint. Try doing a replace, it looks like you moved the pins around  so updated wouldn't be able to swap out them out like for like. Try with the replace command, see if that allows you to change the symbol.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thanks for your reply, Jorge. My bad. Yes, SYMBOL, *not* FOOTPRINT. That's what I duplicated and just moved pin positions so pin mapping shouldn't have been affected.

But the problem remains--this alternate symbol is not listed under the device so I can't add it to my schematic. Can a device (part, component) have multiple symbols?

I'll try the replace command in the meantime.
