Newbie - Sharing libraries with an Eagle user?

I am working on my first ECAD project in Fusion 360 and have really struggled to find my way around the component library aspect of the program as there are minimal instructional videos available and most of the videos on the subject assume the user already knows the program.

My primary issue at the moment is an Eagle user sent me a library file and I would like to add a 3D model to some of the components but I am not sure how to set it up so that we are sharing a common library as opposed to separate local copies.

For just two users (an Eagle user & Fusion 360 user), is there a "correct" way to share a library?

Hi @ejowalter ,

I hope you're doing well. They key here is to have a managed library. The managed library is the link between Fusion 360 and EAGLE.

Easiest way to do this would be as follows.

1) Ask the EAGLE user to make the library managed.

2) The EAGLE user needs to go to library.io and add you to the managed folder so that you can access their managed library.

3) In Fusion 360, create a new library.

4) Go to the manage menu and select link to a managed library.

At this point your Fusion 360 and managed library will be linked. What this means is that you can pull changes from the managed library into your Fusion library and vice-versa. Keep in mind that the two libraries are separate you can keep them in sync with this push pull process.

See this video for more info on this process.
