New SW Update, New Problems with Current Project

Hello,

I just performed an update on Fusion 360. It is now at V2.0.18441

I opened a current project and now see all the wide traces, I used the flat end option on, are all rounded ends that run into my thermal vias (see top snippet below). This was not the case yesterday.

Also, with the new update, I noticed some of the circuit verbiage is not showing up on the longer traces (see bottom snippet below).

Help please.

Hi @RCBakerBorn,

I hope you're doing well. So this is caps have stayed flat but the polygon fill still treats them as if they were round. I'll report this as an issue with the polygons since it should treat the routes as flat.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hey Jorge,

Thankyou for your response.

One thing I noticed is when I deleted one of the traces on the end of the row, and inserted a new trace with flat caps, all of the traces went to flat traces.

However, when I closed out the project and reopened it, they all went back to the rounded caps again.

Hi @RCBakerBorn,

I hope you're doing well. I have passed this thread onto our developers and they are investigating it. This seems all related.

Let me know if you run into anything else.

Hey Jorge,

Is there any update on this issue?

We need to get the gerber files created and sent to the PCB manufacturer for a quote.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello @RCBakerBorn,

I hope you're doing well. The developers are working on the issue but that won't be resolved before the march release. If you have to urgently generate the gerber data. Then I recommend the following:

1) You can pull the trace back short of the middle of the pad. The copper will still connect and you wont have the polygons pulling away from a perceived circular end cap.

2) Another option is to also stop the trace short of the middle of the pad but then switch to a thinner trace width to reach the middle of the pad.

This will allow you to get the work done.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
