Move multiple components?

I need to move multiple components at a time. It appears as if you can only move a single component at a time. If I select multiple parts then try to move them it only moves the part that had its move handle clicked.

It seems like moving multiple parts would be basic functionality.

Is there something I'm missing here?

use select to highlight the components you want to move

then select move

then right click in the pcb design space

a menu box will appear with an option "move group"

after selecting move group, then all the items in the group will move with the mouse cursor.

Thanks, that does work. I still find the process for moving multiple parts very unintuitive. I would expect to just select multiple parts and then move them, without having to select another menu.

what do you mean by "Move" here:  "I would expect to just select multiple parts and then move them, without having to select another menu".  Do you mean drag?  As in, drag a component using the left mouse button?  If so, you are correct, drag is only applicable to a single component.

"Move" would be drag, then. IMHO selecting a group of objects, no matter what the design software, then left-click over one of the objects, then moving the mouse would move/drag the group. This is rather standard behavior in other software.

Hi @infinitemach,

So just to clarify, within Fusion 360 if you form a selection then left click hold and drag one of the members of the selection then the whole group will drag. It sounds like this is not what you are seeing. Can you confirm if this works for you?

Yes, it is working as expected. My problem was that I was not left clicking on the selection handle of a selected part. Once I did that it worked.

I apologize, @infinitemach - I did not see that this was in the Electronics forum - I was answering the question in regards to the Design workspace in Fusion.  I am not familiar with the Electronics workspace.  Please disregard my answer.
