Map pads of footprint

Why I keep getting this dialog every once in a while? It is not just these footprints. I have encountered this same issue with few other footprint pairs. This comes when I start to import footprint to the library. Why Fusion thinks that these footprints are somehow same although they share nothing in common. How should I resolve this issue?

Hi @jonas.juden ,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

Are you happened to export the library with Autodesk Fusion 360 PCB format from 3rd party website, e.g. https://www.ultralibrarian.com/?

If this is the case, the exported libraries in that format has a same dummy URN which is incorrect. And then when you importing the libraries you will see the dialog you met.

As a workaround, please export the library with Eagle6 Library format instead. Which will download a script file instead.

Then you could run the script in Library editor to import the library without dummy URN. After that you could use that library without such problem.

More information about how to run script, you could refer to:

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/fusion-360-electronics-user-language-programming-u...

If it's not the case, do you mind sending the exported library file from 3rd party to us? You could attach it in this post if it's OK.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Best regards,

Helen

Thanks, you might be right on this one. I have been importing components from the componentsearchengine and some from the ultralibrarian. I think I had more of this trouble with UL so I have been using componentsearchengines components more.

What is that URN? Can I somewhere edit and remove it? I'll try that script you mentioned next time.
I solved that issue by copy-pasteing all of the footprint instances from source footprint to new blank footprint in the destination library. That is not particulary elegant way as there is lots of manual work to compile whole part together again.

Hi @jonas.juden ,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Sorry that it's not able to remove the dummy URN manually. Before this issue is fixed, I'd suggest you download the EAGLE 6 library format instead and run the script to import it into your library.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Regards,

Helen
