Library structure with 3D packages

Hello electronic team,

i want to start in Fusion 360 electronics with new fresh team-libraries. I was working with Eagle the  last 20 years.

So without using the shared (linked) Library.io  working method, i placed a copy of my interesting library out of the library manager in an new library folder in Fusion 360.

The new team-library has the symbol and footprints but only a link to the 3D package model in Library.io.

With a double-click on the package icon, the dialog box appeard, with the info, that the referenced package is not

stored in Fusion Team. I can put a copy of the package to Fusion Team with a reference update.

It works well, but now i get new files in my libraries folder for each 3D package.

I can move them in a subfolder to clean up the main library folder, but in the end it is a bit annoying

to handle all the extra 3D package files.

Is there a way to integrate the 3D packages into the corresponding library ?

What is your recommendation for a new (team) library from the ground up with the 3D packages ?

(using some already created packages from the community in Library.io)

Thanks for your support.

Matt

Hi @mattmoritz ,

I hope you're doing well. I know exactly what you mean, this is currently the best way to work with libraries in Fusion 360. See this series for some helpful tips.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
