Launching Fusion messes up my desktop

I use Fusion on my MacBook Pro. The problem I am about to describe is not new, but it seems to be happening with increasing frequency, and as such has become quite a nuisance.

I am running Fusion 2.0.14106.

From time to time, when I launch Fusion, it messes up my desktop by opening EVERY minimized window. This includes Safari browser windows, Word and Powerpoint files, text editor files, and so on. Clearly these windows have nothing to do with Fusion.

In addition, from time to time Fusion will leave pixel crumbs, where a portion of the Fusion BROWSER menu remains visible on top of other application windows even though Fusion has been minimized. Often these crumbs obscure something I am trying to see.

Perhaps others are experiencing these issues as well? If so, please chime in.

Thanks for reporting these issues to us!

We have already tracked the browser kept on top issue when Fusion application windows was minimized. And our development team is working on it.

But regarding the issue you described

We still cannot recreate it and don't clear about how it looks, could you help to attach some screenshots or a video? Thanks!

I cannot reproduce the problem at will. What I described happens unpredictably from time to time when I launch Fusion.

And, even if I could reproduce the problem I am not inclined to send a photo or video of all of the windows on my desktop, nor do I have the time to create a redacted image.

The bottom line is that Fusion seems to execute the macOS equivalent of “maximize all windows”.  When Fusion does this every window, no matter which application it belongs to, is maximized on my MacBook desktop. I tend to have lots of window open, most of which are minimized, so when they suddenly all get maximized my desktop becomes a big mess that takes time to clean up.

I hope this additional description helps you in your pursuit of this very annoying defect.

No problem, I totally understand your concern.

Thanks for your additional information about this issue. We will pay attention to the window related scenarios in the future. 

BTW, do you often use mouse clicks or track pad gestures to control the window? I tried both but still no lucky to recreate the issue you saw.

The problem just occurred, and I might have a new insight.

I launched Fusion and opened a schematic. The schematic has multiple pages and over the course of about two minutes I viewed the different pages. Then, all of the sudden all of the windows on my desktop were maximized.

I subsequently closed Fusion and restarted it, this time using the timer on my iPhone, and tried to repeat the steps from the first time. I could not reproduce the problem. As I type it's been five minutes.

I will try to remember to keep timing Fusion launches in the days to come.

If there is an insight here its that the windows did not get maximized immediately as soon as Fusion was launched but rather it took at least a minute.

Thanks for the further information, Robert! I tried the scenario you mentioned with a schematic file that has multiple sheets, such as:

• Edit a schematic and switch to different sheets after waiting for ~5 mins
• Minimize the Fusion window and wait to see if any other minimized app window maximized
• Close Fusion and then relaunch it 
• After wait for ~2 mins, minimize Fusion window

However, I still couldn't reproduce the unexpected maximized windows issue.

As it could be a random issue, I will pay attention to this kind of scenarios in the future. And also thank you for helping to keep tracking the possible key points that may lead to the issue!
