Hi,

I have this error where the soldermask of the 3D PCB view of my design. Also. The soldermask is selected in the design to be white with black silk screen, but shows up as black in the 3D pcb viewer. Though in the cam processor preview it's the correct color.

Hi @erik.hole ,

It looks like the solder mask wasn't built correctly. Is it ok to share your pcb file to me so that we can look into the issue? my email is richard.liu@autodesk.com

Hello @erik.hole ,

I confirmed that there is a bug about the color. Before we fix it, please assign the color/material manually in 3D PCB environment. Actually this provides more control to the appearance of the board than the settings in cam preview dialog:

I am having the exact same problem,

So I did the suggested work around, I got the colours/appearance i wanted.

BUT..

I made a small change to the SILKSCREEN text in the BRD editor, and all the manually modified colours no go back to the errors, i.e white silk appears Black!

When are you going to fix this. I have just updated with today's update and the problem is still there!

thanks

@ImDaveM,

We missed the timeline to include the fix into the latest update. The issue will be fixed in the next release.

OK, fair enough.

while your at it, can you fix up the hierarchy of components in the browser tree for 3D PCB's?

You have the BOARD Component which has the PCB & the canvases,

but, straight underneath you have 4 components ( foa 2 layer board) that are part of the BOARD component but are in level one of the "BOM" tree this is wrong, the copper Layers and Solder mask "components" should be under and indented from the BOARD Component.

This is done on purpose to simplify the hierarchy. Do you see any issues to work with the current structure?

I updated F360 Today, deleted the linked 3D PCB and pushed it again. The issue persists.with soldermask.png

I tried to set the color to white on the soldermask as well, and the soldermask just dissapaired. This is in a completely new design

I have the same experience. This issue has not been resolved in the last update it seems.

At least the work-around still works..

Sure, there's always that. Though it seems to me that there's not too much testing of features and fixes going on when this is what they call a bug fix, as well as temporarely removing hotkeys for saving and so on on new versions. The "keeping everyone on the same version" is a great thing if one have the right amount of development resources available, but at least from the outside view it seems like the development team on F360E is too small when they depend this much on live testing.
