Inserted PCB duplicate nets

I inserted an electronics design twice into a different electronics design and it created duplicate pours and nets. Now I have a bunch of unconnected air wires. How to fix this? Is there an option when you insert an electronics design to somehow rename the nets or add a prefix?

Hi @shaische222,

When you insert a design into an existing design you'll see a dialog like this one

It shows you how the net names are going to change. By default nets get new names to avoid connecting to the original design but you can go in and manually change them so that everything connects as you intend.

But what if I want to rename BASELINE to something like BASELINE_1? Going through this list and doing it manually is a pain. I should be able to just add a prefix. Like say you have multiple stepper drivers and you keep adding them. It would make more sense to add a prefix such as "Driver_1" and then "Driver_2".

one possible solution to import/copy a schematic/layout without having to much trouble with the naming of nets/parts/.. is to give each part and net a name like "N$1/1", "N$/2", "R1/1" .. and so on.

With this naming each copy have an incremented number at the end of its name and can be identified very easy.

It is important to have a different "Char" before the last number.

This worked perfectly with Eagle and should (hopefully) be the same with Fusion.

Main thing is to do this before copying.

That's super clever, very good idea.  The only modification I would make is to use a different character than the forward slash. I would recommend using an underscore so N$1_1, N$2_1, etc.

Slashes often need to be escaped and not doing that can create problems. Underscores have no such problems.
