increment net names

I've read that there's no way to auto increment net names if i label the net. i need to keep it in the original N$1 format.

i was just wondering if this has been updated at all? I tried playing with different number formats, but only N$x works!

ps. copying and pasting a module makes fusion crash!

Hello @BristolBrailleTechnology,

I hope you're doing well. I've added your comments to the ticket requesting the ability to renumber labeled nets.

In regards to the crash you are running into could you elaborate on how you do a copy and past with the module? Additionally, does it happen with all modules?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

ctrl c when a module is selected and ctrl v= crash.

connecting nets to module pins is really hard too. the only why ive found is to draw a net onto the pin then move the module around and then back to its original place and then it connects.

when you edit modules though some pins disconnect from the nets and some dont.

moving module pins also crashes the program sometimes. I laid out some pins, then enlarged the module bounding box. the pins were put of position. went to move them (one by one seems to be the only way with hold ctrl method) and the nets anchor point moves but not the rest of the net. 95% of the time this is fine, i then need to manually straighten the net. sometimes though fusion crashes...

Hello @BristolBrailleTechnology ,

I hope you're doing well. By any chance are you using something other than a 0.1" (2.54mm) grid? Connection issues can be completely avoided by sticking to a 0.1" (2.54mm) grid. The reason for this is that all of the libraries are built to this grid so connections are simplified. If you have a very fine grid then you'll find that visually you may think you have made a connection but in reality you are off by a grid unit.

Let me know if this helps.

haha, well...this worked. I'm loathe to click "accept solution" though! so the module ports are imperial in length and cannot be connected if the grid size is changed from 0.1"? kind of crazy!

another bit of feedback is to make the module ports sync up with sheet changes. I've changed net names in the sheet, but there's no way i can see to update a module port apart from delete and reinsert, and reconnect and rename any net attached to this port.

As someone learning pcb design i hesitate to give feedback, so i hope this is useful and not just me being bad at using fusion!
