In the schematic, how to name nets without placing a label?

I have a bunch of nets to name in my schematic, and I want to go from net to net to quickly name them all. However, every time I name one net the schematic editor wants to place a label with the name I just created.

I found the checkbox "Place label" in the Name popup window, and found that unchecking this box prevents the label from being placed. But when when I select the next net for naming the "Place label" checkbox is checked again.

How do I get the "Place label" checkbox unchecked by default?
