Importing a device from Ultra Librarian

Hi,

I've tried importing a few devices from Ultra Librarian into Fusion 360 Electronics. Example device include:- BAR43CFILM and PIC10F322T-I/OT

However, when I import the Device as a .scr file from Ultra Librarian, the Symbol doesn't import properly at it appears to give an error usually associated with an unknown pin when running the script. See attached image that shows no symbol view eventhough there are footprint views.

The footprints appear to view correctly, so I'm wondering if there is an issue with Fusion 360 or is it an error in the actual .scr file from Ultra Librarian. Is there a way to check where the source of the error is and more importantly how do I fix this issue as being able to import ready made devices from Ultra Librarian is an excellent time-saving feature to have?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi @Anonymous

I hope you are doing well!

The reason for the issue is that there is no grid setting in the script for symbol editor.

As a workaround, you can go to Fusion Preferences dialog -> Set below Grid default settings as MIL for new schematic and new board file, and then run the original script downloaded from website to import the library.

Please have a try, thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Something else you may want to check is see if the commands end with semi-colons. Individual commands in the script file should end with semi-colons.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Guys,

thank you for the reply.

Yes, I fixed the Grid issue but then it give an error because it cannot recognize the "Connect" command in the script. I commented out the connect commands in the .scr file and then it  gives an error "Invalid part name or gate name: SOURCELIBRARY. " so I gave up at that point.

I have only started using Autodesk Fusion 360 Electronics but I'm a little concerned how these type of issues are not already ironed out if there is a large community of users as "Ultra Librarian" is used by alot of people for importing ready made symbols and footprints.

I then used the Samacsys library loader utility and this works well but it took me a little while to figure out how it works. I was able to successfully import schematics and symbol libraries for various parts. However, the process I used only imports the Schematic and Symbol. It seems there are extra steps required to import the 3D model but I haven't had a chance to figure that out yet.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi @Anonymous ,

Keep you be updated that now you are able to download the library as .lbr format from ultralibrarian and open it in Fusion 360 directly now.

Please choose Autodesk > Fusion 360 PCB when you are downloading the library.

And additionally, now if you download the library script format as EAGLE 6 file, it's able to be run successfully in Fusion 360 now without changing your preference grid settings.

Hope it helps.
