I have a photo of a PCB board im trying to reverse engineer that was made decades ago, and it would be hugely helpful if i could put an image/photo of the original board in and then add components into the right place and draw tracks onto it.

Currently im having to print out photos and then draw on to them the tracks as i draw them in Fusion.

Cheers 🙂

Hello @newworlddesigns,

I hope you're doing well. This is quite tricky. The easiest way I could see this being done is bringing the picture into a photo editing program that can export DXF. Draw over the traces in the photo program and then export that as DXF. You can then bring that into Fusion.

The problem with bringing an image into the 2D PCB is that it bloats the file and could potentially slow Fusion down if the image is big.

Maybe others on the forum will have other suggestions, this is how I would approach it.

Thanks

What I did is print it off and use markers and crayons to colour in the tracks as i drew them in... pretty poor way of doing it, but its the best I could come up with.

Cheers
