How to place a part (Button, Connector, ...) exactly

Hello,

I saw a video on youtube, how you can define a PCB outline from existing geometry.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAsaKbE3jLU

My question is:

Let's say, you want to design a pcb with a button or a connector, that needs to be at a specific place (because it is defined by the enclosure). Is there a way how you can mark the position of the button or connector in the pcb outline, so that you can align it exactly where it needs to be?

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. What you would want to do in this case is place the component approximately on the 2D PCB and then push it back to the 3D PCB and locate it precisely there.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thank you for your answer.

I also had the bug with the misplaced components, so that was no way. But the bug should be solved now.

I am on a business trip now, but I will try when I am back.

Best regards,
