Hello.

I want to add VIAs in the antenna.

I did following process

1. Trace antenna bottom and top layers.

2. Add rounded pads and holes (smaller then pads) with checked thermal option. (YELLOW SKETCHED on the picture)

3. Design the schematic.

4. Push PCB design.

5. [ I see some DRC Errors - clash between smd-smd or smd-shape ..etc.. ]

I don't know how to make an right antenna with some vias.

Please help me.

Hello @monoleselle,

I hope you're doing well. There is currently no mechanism for having vias in the library. I figure the PCB antenna is really on one side of the board. Potentially you could in the library, just make the bottom traces of the antenna. Then make a design that contains the antenna and then add the vias and traces that you want to use to break out the antenna.  From then on you can use insert Electronic Design to reuse the antenna setup.

That's how I would handle this.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hello @monoleselle ,

I needed a NFC-Antenna for a new design and made a library:

There is one via (in real it is a pad) an this works perfect in my design.

See attached library "NFC-Antenna"

The DRC adds a lot of "Errors", but you can ignore them.

Okey, And I have one more question.
Antenna pad1 is connected to pad2.
As you know that is microstrip antenna. so 3d component is not exist.
So, fusion 360 thinks that's short!!
It causes DRC error.
How to trace antenna loop without DRC Error?

Hello @monoleselle ,

yes, you get a lot of DRC-Errors, but what could be the alternative?

In DRC you can accept the errors, but you have to know what you are doing:

Yes, in the layout/footprint pad 1 and pad 2 are connected, but in schematic they are independent.

At the end, it is the copper (including vias) that is on your pcb.

Yes, it is not perfect, but it works.
