Hi @jesper8W75R ,

I hope this message finds you well. Unfortunately, Fusion 360 has no mechanism to downgrade back to previous version. If you look in the general Fusion 360 forums you'll see this request has come up time and time again with many different options and solutions proposed.

I'll report this, but keep in mind it's a general Fusion issue and not just Electronics.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

For how long user can "hold" new version away(not updating)?
Or, update is mandatory right away?

Hi Silvio,

Technically, if you don't close Fusion you can hold off an update. If Fusion crashes or gets reopened after a new version has been released then it will automatically update to the new version. This is the only sort of workaround I have ever heard of.

I've never tried it but considering the number of changes that Fusion gets every release cycle I wouldn't recommend trying to hold off more than a single release. You might run into some really unexpected issues since you are doing something that is not technically supported.

So, UX in Fusion does not rely only on user side(app) but also rely on server side which also gets updated every 6 weeks?
As far as I know, server side is only used for storing and versioning files(like SVN/Git).

So, not all computing is done on user side?

I see, so, with our usual luck, we'll be able to hold off for a couple of hours. That's about the time between crashes.
Is that actually something you have designed in, to force people to update?

By "number of changes", you mean number of bugs, right?
Excuse the sarcasm, but it sure would have been awesome if those "changes" were actually bug-fixes and not some new unnecessary "features".

Anyway, after support from support and Helen, I have found a workaround to the panel issues.
Another time-wasting workaround to add to the OTHER time-wasting workarounds I have to use all the time to be able to use Confusion Electronics.
Very disappointing, Autodesk.

Hi @silvio3105 ,

The UX is run fully local. The cloud is used for data storage, versioning, and for certain collaboration features. It's also used when you chose to do a cloud solve for a rendering or simulation study. I think that covers most of the important use cases.

Basically Fusion 360 requires a restart to update the software. It will download the latest version while running but it won't automatically swap them out live.

Hi @jesper8W75R ,

It's not designed in, but I know why you have the impression. I also know that you are disappointed with the latest release. The first hotfix should be out already. I think there is at least one more planned.

We are working to get this sorted out ASAP, with the big stability boost coming in July. I'm hopeful that the biggest issues will be addressed by then. I've seen some of the work that's been done and I'm frustrated it didn't come out with the may release.

Should only be a few more weeks before my response rate on the forums can go down a little.

Yes, I know that but I don't understand why then AD forces new update(s)? It not that you break compatibility with server side if you don't update right away.
It would be nice to see some kind of update delay since some users use Fusion(not just electrics) for making money and bad, forced update can and will make problems for them.
