How To Create A New Independent Project Copy With Version 1 Referenced For All Files

I would like to branch a project.  I have and have figured out how to copy the current project into another new project folder using the Team Hub...

As promised, the copy works to create a new project and all of my 5 files, the original dimensional PCB sketch, component location layout, 3d PCB, symbol schematic, and "common" file with the other 4 files have been created as version 1.  From these new 5 files I would like to move ahead and make changes and not change my original project I had made the copies from.

However, when I open my Ver 1 of the common file, I see that the other 4 files it opens are from the design I had copied from as indicated by their higher level versions and not the Ver 1 as I had hoped.

Two questions:

1) How do I break the link to the original copied files and replace them with my Ver 1 files to the new Ver 1 common file?

2) Is there a link that contains the proper names for these 5 basic files for an electronics project?

Thank you

Finally figured it out...

use the link to make a copy...if you are not setup this way yet.

How to transfer Fusion 360 projects from Single User Storage to a Fusion Team Hub | Fusion 360 | Aut...

All copied files show up as version one, the problem being the electronics project file is still linked to the original schematic and PCB and the old copies link can not be broke and relinked with the new ver 1 files.  One might think that if the files were all copied that the new electronics project file would automatically be linked to the new ver 1 files for the schematic and PCB.

To make a new independent electronics project from the copied files:

1) Delete the copied ver 1 electronics project file

2) Select the file icon in the top control bar and select "New Electronics Design"

3) In the new unnamed deign file select under Common select "Reference To A Schematic Document" and in the dialog which appears, choose the ver 1 schematic which was copied.

4) Similarly, in the new unnamed deign file select under Common select "Reference To A PCB Document" and in the dialog which appears, choose the ver 1 PCB which was copied.

5) In the PCB document under Design, select the "view 3D PCB" icon to generate the 3D PCB

6) Save the common electronics design file you made in step #2 above.

Open the original project file and use Save As.

Save to a new folder for clarity the rest should be automatic.

Note the original and new project must be on the Fusion360 cloud.

Hi @perryXG59M,

Just want to clarify, Save As will still preserve any existing links. If you want a completely independent copy you have to do the procedure @chuck_toddN7PTC posted.
