How to backup all files in a folder

It there a way to make a backup of a project? As far as I can tell there is no good way to do it. Project archiver does not work for electronics files or libraries. Also it is slow and doesn't work perfectly. I have way too many projects, libraries etc. to backup manually.

Hello @warren_hawkins57R37,

I hope you're doing well. So you can make a backup of a full design by opening the design and then in the Electronics Design file go File > Export and export an archive file.

By the nature of how Fusion works with your data, everything is backed up all the time. I'm guessing you are going for a local backup. If that the case then the manual process is the only way to go.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

This is a huge shortcoming. I would imagine the fine print says Autodesk is not responsible for our data and buisiness continutity?

Also your definition of a project is very narrow compared to mine. To me a project can have 10, 20 or even more PCB's and a lot of mechanica files as well. Our libraries has the same number. It's just not feasible to maintain a proper local backup.

I find it amazing that this is not a priority.

Hi @warren_hawkins57R37,

I guess this is more of a general Fusion concern than strictly electronics. You just want a way to download everything on your hub in one go is that correct?

I'll talk to my colleagues to see where is the best place to report this request. It's not a priority because of the nature of cloud storage, similar to google docs, your likelyhood of losing data is very slim because it is constantly being backed up. There may be a solution, let me get back to you.

Basically yes. The size of the files on the fusion drive extension in windows explorer are smaller than the exported archive so not sure what that gives me.

I googled it to find the articles.

This one seems most relevant.

And then there's this one, you seem to have found it already:
