How to add/replace electronic components including packages.

Have spent way too much time trying to add a new footprint and 3d package to a new product design using the latest approach. Seems like the tutorials always have some of the steps already completed so you don't ever see a real end-end real world solution that walks through all the issues real users might see versus the people already using it every day.  Seems virtually unusable right now after spending all weekend trying to get 5-6 parts updated or added. For example was trying to change one fet from a to-220 case to a to-251. You would think that would be a 10 second task.

If the pad sketchs were not locked or you could build a footprint manually and then add the 3d model with pin connections that would at least allow some progress since there are not tutorials that walk through most of the obstacles. The tutorials seem to be made using the know path versus going as if they had to figure it out without a tutorial or developers over their shoulders like most users.

So frustrated as I have been patiently waiting for over 6 months to have a working design solution.

If anyone has any good tutorials that walk through real end-end steps please share.

Do people really use Fusion for electronic designs or should I just use Fusion for mechanic and find electronic design solution ?

Same thing for me... absolutely insane process with lots of "things going wrong" all time when trying to import 3D packages from various sources. For instance, I cannot find any way to replace an existing 3D package with another one. Impossible neither to delete an existing 3D package... so, i'm simply stuck. 3 days I'm desperatly trying to figure-out the right process. Theres definitely someting going wrong at Fusion360 electronics workflow.

Hi @brigitte.nader,

I hope this message finds you well. If you are in the content manager you can remove the 3D component from the component which would allow you to associate the new one. By any chance have you seen this video and its associated series?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Dear Jorge,

Thanks for your help and kind reply. I figured out how to do it getting across your excellent tutorial yesterday. You must admit Fusion360 interface is far from being self-explanatory on this specific (and vital) topic ! Hope this will change in the next future, because for newbies like me, spending hours (days) just figuring-out how to do it is just nonsense.
