how to add a front panels and/or canvas to a 3D PCB?

Hi

I am designing a component where the physical appearance is important. I have the pront panel bought, so I have to adjust the components (switches, buttons, etc) to this front panel.

I created the schematics, 2D PCD, and pushed to 3D. I did ask before, and a full reverse workflow (starting by putting elements on a 3D PCB) does not work. But now I have a 3D PCB where most of my controls are disabled, so I cannot add a canvas of the front panel, or cannot create the front panel to move the items. What is the best practice here? Thanks

If you created the PCB in Fusion Electronics, then that forum section is a better place to ask.

I can ask the moderator to move this thread, if you want me to.

Hi @rprovideo,

I hope you're doing well. The trick to doing this is always to leave the 3D PCB as it's own file and then inserting the 3D PCB into a larger assembly. Once in the context of the larger assembly you can then use EIP workflows to move switches and components to the proper location for the panel.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
