Hi, I want to minimize the solder pad area for a 0805 resistor to achieve minimum capacitance in a transimpedance amplifier setup.
I wanted to use tRestrict to define a polygon on the pad, indicating the copper areas to cut. See screenshot, the green marked areas are trestrict. In 3D preview and layout view, this does produce any results.
Is there an option to have pads respect vRestrict areas? Did I do something else wrong? Thanks!

I hope you're doing well. I get that you want to minimize the solder pad area. What I don't get is why your doing it this way. It seems to me that it would be much easier to just modify the SMD dimensions and call it done.
If you don't want to modify the original 0805 footprint, I get that, but in that case just make a copy of the footprint give it a different name and associate it with the same device. You'll then be able to update the design to use the smaller solder pads.
It's likely I'm missing something so please feel free to correct me.
