Help with Importing Existing Electronics Design & Design Block Updates

Hello,

I'm trying to import an existing electronics design into a new project.

I'm not entirely sure what the correct response is when prompted with an alert about a conflicting net class.
Additionally, I need some clarification about the second dialog panel that appears after selecting YES in the first one. Please see the attachments for reference.

Also, are there any updates regarding design block creation that I may have missed?
What I'm attempting right now is essentially a workaround for that feature.

Thanks

Hi @FrankEagle ,

I hope you're doing well. Let's go in order

1) The first image is letting you know that the file you are importing has netclass settings different than the file you are importing into. In this case, file you are importing into has non-zero values compared to the one coming in. I'm assuming you set up those values for a reason, so the best response would be to say no here, that way your non-zero values are respected.

2) The second panel is used to help you resolve any net naming conflicts. By default the importer will make sure that there is no duplication between existing net names and the net names of the design coming in, since that would lead to accidental connections. The only exception are the power nets you'll see that by default in the dialog those names are not changed so that they can connect. For this dialog you just take a quick look and if it looks as expected click OK. Otherwise just make a change to whatever nets need to be modified and then hit OK.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
