All my librairies's projects are greyed in brd editor (not in sch !) and I have crash of Fusion the I click on a component in the "place components" menu.

Somebody know the UPADTE line command for footprint in board editor ? I know the one for sch but not for brd.

Thanks because I can't work anymore.

I have never seen anything so complicated after quantum physics, please make it easier to manage libraries please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.

Your devices are greyed out, because you're not supposed to add them in the board editor.
You should add devices in the schematic editor.
Only things like Logos, frames and other board "decoration" can be added in the board editor.

That said, the program should, of course, not crash, no matter how much you misuse it.
But, this is Autodesk quality - it will crash just by you moving a cursor.

Hi @RitchieFromParis,

Thanks for posting this. Supposedly the Place parts panel was not supposed to be visible on the board if a consistent schematic is linked to it. I can, like you see it if I move the design manager out of the way, in my case I don't get the crash but I know you are on a MacOS.

I'll report this, we have a some bug fixes coming out in the next release should make some of the bigger annoyances go away. I trust you and @jesper8W75R , to let me know if they are still here after the release.

Hi Jorge and thanks for your reply,

But the problem is not really if supposed to be visible on the board if a consistent schematic is linked to it BUT THE CRASH when I click on a component, One of your excellent and friendly colleague saw it himself during a video conference, you can speak with him for more infos if you don't trust on me.

Fusion has never crashed so much since the last update!! understand that it's very stressful and not reassuring when you work on a big commercial project.

Have you tried creating a complete project without crashing in Fusion? if you say yes, sorry for not believe you.

You tell me I'm on Mac! yes of course, but if Fusion exists on this platform, it should work, and that's why I've chosen Eagle for over 20 years.

If you are unable to stabilize Fusion on Mac, you must be honest with your customers and in this case stop development on this historical platform which made Eagle successful.

I'm waiting for the future update but I must confess you to being afraid that it will be worse.

Best and thanks

Hi @RitchieFromParis ,

I know the crash is the important thing, don't worry. I know you've been working with Pawel, he's a good support tech and I communicate with him regularly. We believe you Ritchie, you've always supplied evidence for the issues you run into.

The last release had the new features of place parts panel and library manager, and it's likely that some of the crashes are due to those features. It's being investigated right now.

I fully agree that if Fusion 360 runs on the Mac then it better work. The only reason I ask or mention the OS is because for several users including yourself the crashes are not reproducible or consistent I'm looking for any common thread among them to give the devs some sort of clue as to where things are coming from.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hi Jorge,

Pawel spent a lot of time with me in video and I really appreciate his help.

But even he sometimes doesn't understand why Fusion crashes or that some things don't work normally, yet he knows Fusion very well.

I must admit that the support is excellent and I did not know it before all these crashes, but I would prefer to have efficient software and not waste so much time troubleshooting.

I also wanted to thank Ludovic Yson, Frijo Francis, Helen Chain and Panpan Fan for their help and patience.

Hi @RitchieFromParis,

We are working on this so that you don't have to spend so much troubleshooting. After talking with the devs they are confident that after the next two releases we should see Fusion's stability improve substantially.

Let's see what happens.
