Graphical difference between perspective and orthographic view

Hi,

I have a little graphical problem that I noticed during my electronic desig. Viewing 3d pcb in orthographic or perspective mode gives quite different result, orthographic shows ok but there's something wrong with perspective view. Maybe some bug or something else relating hardware/software? I have attached two screenshots about problem, taken with those two different modes. Tested in desktop with two different amd graphic cards (HD 5770 + HD 7770) and laptop with intel chipset and results are the same.

Thanks,

Miika

Hi @miika.syvanen,do you see this issue with all boards or just in some of your designs? Have you ever changed the copper thickness in 2D PCB environment?  If this is not common for all designs, can you share this 3d PCB file?

Hi @yqliu,

This is common at least two designs for now that I have made. Didn't change copper thickness or anything else, just used default setting.

If needed, I can share this 3d PCB file for furter investigation.

Is there any update to this? If I push to PCB with options and set canvases, it shows up right, but board is of course little different looking. Noticable that 3d pcb without canvases, board also changed all yellow with right zoom and only on top side of pcb, as shown in screenshot.

And is it normal that creating 3d pcb take so much time? I was just testing with one design (info in screenshot) and it takes total time 12 minutes and 8 minutes of that was 100% utilization with Intel Core i7 3770. With canvases time was something near 2 minutes.

Thanks,

Miika

Hi @miika.syvanen , I sent you a private message a week ago to ask for the f3d file. Maybe you can just share it here?

Since we are generating full B-rep solids for the 3D PCB, there are a lot of computation and it's normal to take longer time than to use canvas (of course we are keep improving the performance).

Thanks for reporting the issue and sharing your file to me. I can reproduce the issue.  So this is definitely not a problem of your graphics cards. Our development team will look at it.
