General UI/UX Improvements: Linking, updating, and overview

I am just wondering if fusion360 is planning to improve the way in which visualizing, linking, and updating is handled generally in Fusion360. It currently feels broken and messy.

Schematic <-> Components <-> Symbols <-> Footprints <-> Packages <-> PCB Layout <-> 3D PCB

All these are linked and visualized in VERY different ways.

When you change one of them, getting it to update often involves closing and reopening files or bizarre UI interactions like forcing updates to component libraries.

Is there a plan to redesign this UI/UX or will it always kinda be similar to the approach we see now?

Thanks

Hello @fuzzyw,

We are always looking for ways to improve our UX. With that said I think you've made it more difficult than it is. Here's how I usually break it down.

schematic and 2D PCB sync live, so as long as the electronics design file is open and both files are open they stay synchronized.

2D PCB and 3D PCB is a push/pull interaction, push to 3D PCB or pull from 3D PCB.

Components are fully defined in the library and you just consume components in the other documents. You generally don't have to close and re-open files to get them to sync. If you find yourself having to constantly open and close files then we need to talk about workflow.

Let me know if this helps. If it doesn't let me know also.
