I tried to copy an electronics design in Fusion 360 and it copied it alright.   It put the main project file into the directory I specified, did not allow me to change the name (I guess I do that afterwards?) but it made copies of the schematic and board files in the same directory the originals were.   Now the schematic and board files are duplicated supposedly, they are both handled through the same identifier/icon as their originals, and I cannot rename or move the copy without doing the same to the original.  I haven't tried deleting the copy yet, I'm scared to try, as it will probably also delete the original.

Hi @robLBYMJ,

I hope you're doing well. Making a copy of a design in Fusion is currently a bit tricky. Here's the best procedure, follow it and you'll have no problems. The key here is to make copies of the board and schematic individually then link them with a new Electronics design file, this will completely divorce the copy from the original.

1) Create a new Electronics Design
2) Click link a schematic
3) Find a the existing schematic, make sure that create a copy is checked on the bottom right. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART
4) Repeat for 2D PCB

The copy will be completely divorced from the original.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
