Change Default Grid Size

Is it possible to change the default grid size for footprint/PCB editor windows?  I am constantly changing the grid, because Fusion360 wants to default to 1.27mm.

Yes, I have unchecked reset to default in preferences:

What I want to change is the actual stored default grid settings in Fusion360, so that when I click "Default", it will change to some values other than 1.27mm.

Hi @wleismer ,

I hope you're doing well. The default value is reserved in Fusion electronics so it's not user editable. You can explicitly define whatever GRID you wish to use, but if a user gets in trouble Default is designed to get them to a known state hence we don't allow that value to be adjusted.

The Preference system needs to be a little more flexible but I don't forsee us changing the behavior of the Default button.

Hi Jorge,

thank you for the explanation.

However this default behavior is very annoying to someone who is working with metrical units.
Every time I create a new footprint the grid is set to imperial and I have to change it to mm and then to values which make really sense (not 1.27 .. 😉 )

I hope Autodesk is aware that metrical units are also more and more the standard for electronic components.
Even US companies (e.g. Texas Instruments) are providing in newer data sheets only mm dimensions for their footprints.

I really would see an improvement here to accelerated the workflow.

Regards,
Michael
