cant add external 3d model to 3d pcb

In fusion 360 electronics i have a 3d pcb i also have a step file from a display manufacturer and want to build my pcb sketch around the display module.i used to be able to drag and drop any step file i uploaded into a pcb design in fusion now i cant drag step files into the 3d pcb file.how can i get my 3d step files into a 3d pcb?

unfortunately i cant add the 3d model to a footprint as the display module is in 2 pieces the module its self and a flex cable connector the display module in question has a flex cable attached to it.I've done it before no problem were i upload the display module's step file to fusion then drag and drop the model into my fusion 3d pcb design,my ribbon connector is already on the pcb with a footprint i just need the display module inside the 3d viewport so i can sketch a odd pcb outline shape around the display module.but when i drag and drop the step file nothing happens nor does fusion show i can drop the model into my design maybe they dont allow this feature anymore?

Hi 32Loyal,

Thank you for participating in the Fusion 360 electronics forum. It would be best to insert the 3DPCB into a Design workspace, then do the same with the STEP file in the same session.   As you discovered, inserting a STEP file in the 3DPCB is not possible, but it can be done in the Design Workspace.
