Can't Add Signal to Polygon on 2D PCB

I have multiple polygons on an imported 2D PCB project. The only way I have seen to select these polygons is to select the polygon edges associated with them. However, in the Inspector, this polygon edge does not have a signal associated with it. I have tried naming it, however there is still nothing that shows up in the Inspector other than the "Properties of Polygon Edge" tab. How can I give this already created polygon a signal?

Select the polygon press the N (of name) button on your keyboard, select the polygon again and there should be a popup to change the name.

Name command can also be found under modify.

No idea why you need to click the polygon twice, wasn't the case in the past.

So I think this works but it also doesn't. I can only select the polygon by clicking the edge of it. Then I add a new name. There is no error message and it operates like it worked. However, after adding the new name, the polygon still behaves like it is unnamed, a signal name doesn't show up when inspecting the polygon's edges, and I can't see any of the signal settings or polygon pour settings when I inspect the edges.

This polygon was created from importing the project from KiCAD, so I am confident that the problem is related to that.

Hello @wlilegdo,

I hope you're doing well. If it fills like a Polygon it should behave as such. When you select a polygon edge what do you see in the inspector?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

This is all I see in the Inspector when selecting the edge. This is after naming the polygon and polygon edge. The end goal is to add thermals to the vias you can see here.

Hi @wlilegdo ,

Did you create a polygon pour or a polygon shape. This looks like it's a shape and that would not be the correct option to use. Polygon shapes do not carry net information, what you want to use the is the polygon pour command.

Could you try redrawing it and see if that solves the issue?

This does work to create a pour with net information/a signal. However the old polygon shape overlaps the polygon pour. Is there a way to directly convert a polygon shape to a pour? Or is there a way to quickly delete the polygon shape? The way I know how currently is to delete the edges until the polygon shape disappears; however, deleting the edges seems inefficient because I have to delete the edges over and over until the polygon disappears.

Thank you for your help!

Hi @wlilegdo ,

I hope you're doing well. When you select a polygon edge, hold ctrl and it will select the whole polygon, then you can press the delete key to get rid of it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
