I've been running this for a while and now it is publicly released, I can finally comment on it.

It IS, in general, quite an improvement. But still not all the way.
What annoys me is that much time seems to be spent on adding new features, and zero time spent on fixing existing bugs. No, more features (and MORE bugs).

1. Library Manager
This is a big change from the old one. And gives a much nicer overview over what libraries are in use, where they are e.t.c.
But, it lacks in showing what you have in your libraries.
The new pane that show 1 or 3 components are nice as you can also see the 3D models, but it would have been nice to have a "list" view, just listing the name of the devices in the library.
If you don't remember the name of the component, so you can use search, clicking your way, (at best) 3 at a time in a library with 900 components are not joyful.

What is the "Remove from view"?
What does it do EXACTLY? Where is my lib? How do I get it back?

I tried it on a test lib, and sure, it is gone.
Also, Fusion crashed. Yay!

BUGS!

A new bug happened a number of times, as I was writing this post.
I opened Library Manager, some libs where marked as in-use, some not.
Everything looked as usual.
After a second or two, it said "Syncing with Library.io" and ALL libraries were marked NOT in use.
I have to set all the various in-use sliders again. (only to have it happen a bit later).

Also, here is where the Library Manager is unstable.
While fiddling around with the In-Use sliders, "Remove from view" e.t.c., Fusion crashed.
I have had it happen 3 times, other users report it happening too.
Great work!

2. Content Manager

This works pretty well, you can even see and search the descriptions.

But, column changes are not persistent.

I'm normally not interested in Pins, Pads and Variants columns. But I want to see the Description.
So, I remove the first three.
But next time I open Content Manager, it's all reset to the default view.
Not good.

A side-note  on this is that the Variant column is only shown if ANY component have more than one variant.

This is slightly confusing and makes the list inconsistent between various libraries.

3. Place Components.

This lacks the Description for the components.

It IS actually possible to search the description, but it is not shown.
Also, as with other panes, column changes are not persistent.
And, about the columns....

In PLACE COMPONENTS, you have to click on columns to select which one to show, instead of a small gear as in CONTENT MANAGER.
Love the consistency, right?

And, there is NO shortcut documented (as with most others) to hide this pane. Not even support knows the shortcut.

4. 3D PCB performance
The release note states proudly that 3D PCB performance have improved a lot.

That IS true, it is faster than before.
But, that is not really where most of OUR development time are spent.
Time is spent drawing a schematic, choosing components, then doing the layout.
THAT is where focus should be on making things simple and fast.
Pushing to 3D is only done a little now and then, sometimes only once at the end of the design, and for some people, not at all.
And, while improving all this 3D PCB performance, Autodesk happily chose to ignore several old bug reports. Some almost a year old.

These bugs are STILL there.
But, hey! They are calculated FASTER now!!
