Bug unexpected condition in file R:/Electron/EAGLE/src/undo.cpp line 359 when clicking link in orange notification bar to "run ERC to find differences"

(Untested, approximate) Reproduction details:

I acknowledge that the Fusion 360 bug team may not have access to my company's design files "in the fusion 360 cloud". Also, since this is a public post I feel the need to omit certain detail details that could benefit competitor companies.

  • Load a particular version of the design I am working on.
  • open PCB tab, notice a certain part uses the wrong footprint
  • open schematic tab, navigate to page where part is located
  • Replace C30 C31 C33 C38 and C45 with the IPC_0805 package variant of the C device in my particular library
  • open PCB tab and click link in orange notification bar
  • Crash due to error in undo.cpp

see redacted image

At worst if this post does not contain enough information to flag the presence of a bug it at least will serve as a written record for future me to eventually figure out the steps needed to reproduce this bug.

That Fusion crashes, is of course annoying, but that is sadly quite normal for this untested alpha software, and not really surprising anymore.

But, your first problem is WHY you get that orange bar.
If you have both Schematic and PCB tabs open, the change in one editor should automatically be made in the "other".
Try to retrace a few steps and see WHEN that bar pops up.
That's where something goes wrong.
I guess it is when you replace the packages, but that normally works fine.

Hi @jasonMR6KF ,

I concur with @jesper8W75R . Normally if the schematic, 2D PCB and electronics design file are open together any changes in one editor will sync with the other.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Hi @jasonMR6KF

I hope your are doing well! The warning issue should have been fixed in Fusion 360 V2.0.13516+.

Please have a try to see if you can still meet error dialog.

Regards,

Panpan Fan

Edit: oops, I thought I was running V2.0.13516+ but was running V2.0.13515. Will try to trigger.

Hi @jasonMR6KF

Thanks for your comment!

For the new error dialog, I think it should also be a bug issue.

Can you reproduce it every time? If you do, please describe your steps.

I will check if I can reproduce it.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Panpan Fan
