I have triggered this bug between 25 and 50 times in the past two weeks. I keep running into this bug when doing basic library management and group manipulation tasks (delete device variant, replace devices page by page by creating groups, rename device variant, change device variant footprint or name, etc.).
I also keep triggering two different bugs when manipulating groups of devices. The first error was another unexpected condition in a different electron source file. The second was along the lines of "take object failed." The group manager seems to do very poorly when a device in a group has been deleted but is still a member of a group.
