bug: if I Pattern something (like a rectangle on the RestrictTop layer) and still have the Pattern window open but hit Esc to escape, the pattern remains even though I attempted to cancel it

now i click the red rectangle and type `10` in `Columns`

now i hit `Esc` because i want to cancel, pattern still remains even though i expected to cancel it

Hello @samykamkar ,

It's always nice to hear from you, it's been a while. I think you are just testing here because I'm not sure what you are trying to pattern. I'll run this by the UX team, I get a feeling this is the intended behavior, since in Electronics the escape key serves to end the command not undo anything.

Now whether that's desirable or not can be debated. I'll respond with what the UX team tells me. If it is indeed a bug I'll make a ticket for it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

good to be back!

I was intentionally patterning a RestrictTop rectangle so that it would pattern over the rest of the through holes. The reason for that was I'm CNC'ing this board so my through holes aren't plated, so ideally all traces from through holes come from the bottom and the top layer would only be used for vias which I can much more easily connect via rivets or wire, but the actual through hole components I only want to solder from the bottom.

I'd understand if Esc may not be used normally but even in other areas of the Electronics workflow Escape does in fact undo; for example the `Polygon Shape` tool begins to draw Polygon lines, and while still in the tool each time I hit `Esc` it undoes the line I just drew until it entirely exits the tool which I believe is expected behavior and consistent with the MCAD side of things (and most other software), where the Pattern does not follow this behavior

thanks!
