Best way for Creating Custom Complex Arbitrary Footprints

I am trying to create a footprint for a button but having trouble with getting the pads to be right. In the pad editor I am able to create the shape I want (If anyone knows an easier way of creating shapes the the polygon tool PLEASE let me know) but regardless of what layer the pads don't seem to convert over to PCB correctly

I've opted for a tedious method of copying and pasting the polygon from the footprint file, to the pcb directly and overlapping them. Then converting the polygon to a wire just so i can convert that wire back to a polygon to create a polygon pour.

This method just feels so inefficient. Is there anything I am missing to make this process easier?

Hi @jclyde97MY7,

I hope you're doing well. What isn't appearing correctly in the 2D PCB specifically? The correct approach is what you did initially, using copper polygons in the library to define the shape of the 2 pads and then making sure to include SMDs to anchor the 2 pads to the symbol.

For now there isn't a better mechanism, you could script it but that's as much as a speed up as I think you can get with the current implementation.

Did you ever solve this issue? I'm having it as well (posted about it as a follow up to another question here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-electronics/difficulty-with-footprint-polygon-connections/...)
