also, working with custom symbols in schematics seems unnecessary complicated, or is impossible, as

there is no means of just adding new symbols, without footprints, etc..

Hello @j_dommasch,

 

I'll send your request up the chain. Keep in mind Fusion is really designed and tailored to PCB design. Harness design is an electrical discipline as well but not directly related to PCB development. If I remember correctly you have another thread talking about components, I've put a response there for you.

Short term a library for wiring harness design might be a good solution.

i must disagree
anything more complicate than the electronic version of "print my name is fred" needs some sort of wire harness,

or board to board connections, or wires to panel or chassis mounted components.  this is the gist of the one schematic multiple boards thread.

 

wiring harnesses aren't much different from plumbing. maybe that aspect from construction can be leveraged to electronics.
