Machine Configurations

When I open the machine configuration the mill all show up but I don't have a single lathe option.  Also when I go to post code it is failing.  Did Autodesk remove that feature from the educational version or is it because I haven't selected a machine do to the above issue?

Hi @bnummerdor Lathes are currently not supported for machine configs. You will only see that for milling.

The education version is pretty much the most capable and fully featured version of Fusion available. Commercial users can get the same functionality by purchasing additional options. Nothing has been removed from the EDU version.

Can you provide more info about what is failing or post the file along with letting me know what post you are using so I can have a look?

One more question. When you post, are you posting your code with an extension like .nc or .txt or is that blank for you?

Yes I am trying to post to a .nc extension and get a message "Failed to Post" and thought that it was because I never defined my turning center.

@bnummerdor Were you able to get it to post? If not, can you attach your file here so I can take a look?

Thanks,

Kevin

I am also having an issue with the threading tool crashing on the last 6-7 passes.  I cannot seem to find the issue.

Hi @bnummerdor Thanks for the file. I was able to post successfully using the CL-1 Haas turning post. It was complaining about the coolant cycle so I disabled coolant for all ops. I don't have a lot of experience with the CL lathes as to know if they support coolant codes.

Can you confirm what post processor you were using?

I also ran a simulation and didn't see any crashes. What indication do you have that you are seeing crashes in your threading cycle?

Got it it was in the machine configuration. Not sure how it changed but all better now. Thanks for your time and assistance. As for the tool path...it must be in the graphics since the part ran fine.

@bnummerdor I attached a screen shot wondering if the red was what was throwing you off. Fusion is showing that as a gouge, but since the threads aren't modeled on the part, Fusion thinks the tool is gouging the part. Which it is, but it is a gouge you want. If you look at operations across the bottom of the screen though, you won't see any red.

Thanks,

Kevin
